You guys are such terrible teases! I have to admit that I have NO self control and will need to see the current season ASAP.

I'll admit we've watched as many as three episodes a night. There have been times we planned on stopping for the night and going to bed, but then we just HAD to see one more hour's worth.

And the fashion :O DH has started to tease me when we watch because he's just waiting for me to point out the next incredible dress. Good grief.

Well do anything but what I did.
I saw last season live (almost every episode) and then, after one or two episodes of this season, realized that I was really missing out on some crucial background info (e.g., had NO idea why someone referred to Don as Dick). I rented Netflix and started making my way through Season 1. Very helpful, but, like some kind of true addict, I was unwilling to give up the new, fresh stuff. So I kept watching each Sunday. Finished Season 1 and am now into Season 2, but still current with the current season. It's a ridiculous way to go about this and I'm often watching an episode going "wait, didn't X and Y stop sleeping together?" and then realizing I'm mixing seasons. But stil. Can't give up the current season, mainly for the reason you mention--waiting till next year seems WAY too long. And to echo what other readers have said--the new episodes are just blowing me away in their depth and interest. And I'm noting a bit more comedic moments too, which is nice!
Right, so, this reply won't be earning me a "solution" credit. I really just wanted to empathize with a fellow MM addict and let you know that I think you're going about this the right way!

Beth, SO and I have done the same with several series. Breaking Bad was the one that finally caused SO to break down and subscribe to Netflix. We immersed ourselves in Seasons 1 & 2 right when Season 3 was debuting on AMC, then we had to wait until AMC ran a "catch-up marathon" to get current on the episodes we'd missed. When Season 3 ended, we were bereft. Imagine having to wait until NEXT MARCH, with the rest of the viewing public, to know what happens next!

To console ourselves, we started on The Wire, and became equally obsessed with it.

I usually have a second series going at the same time so that I don't get too far ahead of SO. I just finished all of Damages that's available on DVD, and Mae is encouraging me to take up Dexter...

I have become so accustomed to watching "TV" this way that I can no longer bear to watch anything with commercial interruptions, let alone a week between episodes!

OMg Omg Omg, as of this weekend I'm so there!! Netflix was just launched in Canada last week, so Corey and I dove into Mad Men on the weekend...We watched 10 episodes in three days! Can't wait to find out what lies ahead!
I do wish I could see the clothes, though. Corey is very taken with the gentlemen's style, and he tries to describe some of the ladies' clothig for me, but he just doesn't know what details matter. :)
Corey now wants to stock up on cufflinks and tie clips. :p

We are in the same boat. We just have two or three episodes left on season 3. DH is always ready to watch two or three a night but I want to spread it out. It will be a long wait but I really love having them on Blu Ray and watching them on the big TV screen.

I just have to avoid hearing or reading about what happens because I don't want to know anything ahead of time.

Beth, never mind one episode a night - how about 4 on the trot! It would really take away from my enjoyment of the series if I could only watch one episode a week. I don't know how others do it.

Oh, I love Mad Men. The clothing styles send me into orbit.

I download the episodes onto my lappy from iTunes on Monday mornings. I have all 4 seasons this way. I think it's $2 an episode.

This works for me because we don't have a TV set. But if you wanted to watch them on your big screen I bet you could burn a DVD.

This season has been really good. Love the emerging 60s style....

Oh Angie, the pain! It's one thing to watch an episode a week and quite another to watch one a night, as you know. We've been in Mad Men Universe for a while...it's no fun to have to leave that planet so abruptly:)

Khris, I'll take a look at that link. I've also just found that you can get all the episodes on iTunes, which is probably something everybody but me (a non-tech sort of person) knew already. :O

After reading about it here, DH and I have been immersed in Mad Men for the last two months, Netflixing the last three seasons. We're hooked. :O

And oh, the horror...we have only one episode to go and we're stuck...can't jump into the current season right now and don't want to wait until the spring when the complete season comes out on DVD. Any suggestions for the best way to catch up on the current season? We don't have DVR to catch any late-night rereuns:(
