I haven't used it myself, but there is information on the skincare and procedures board on http://www.makeupalley.com.

I did the system for about a year because of brown spots and sun damage on my face. I did supplement with prescription tretonin. I found the intensive peeling stage annoying but the results were great. I was very happy with my skin. However, it does need to be maintained or it backslides. I'm currently debating if I want to do another round but the cost is holding me back. But the results I had before are making it tempting. Last time I did it, it was a birthday present to myself!

Thank you. I was going to do the trial size whole system, that lasts about 3 months, for $199 or just 2 of the products in full sizes that concentrate on evening skin tone, that would be about $180. It would be for my face - right along the hairline I got some bad browning from working summers as the beverage cart girl on a golfcourse. The dermatologist did say that I'd have to be vigilant about staying out of the sun or it will come back. And I believe they mentioned adding a retin A or tretonin to the routine to accelerate results. I use Olay Definity right now or Neutrogena Ageless Intensives but as I said, they don't do a whole lot to the brown patches . . . I think I will give it a try - it can be one of my Christmas gifts! Because no matter how fab you may feel in your clothes, being self conscious about your complexion will always take you down a notch :|

Six years ago I used the Obagi routine to treat sun damage in the form of freckles and brown spots, but as I recall, the initial expense was around $400. I used it on hands and face. I have thin, fair skin, so my skin was red and irritated and not a pretty sight during these weeks. I did maintenance for a year or two and did the once a year "Obagi Shock" once, but then decided to rely on Retin A three times a week.

I was happy with the results on my face--most of the discoloration went away, but it did not work so well on my hands. Obagi is too harsh on my skin to stay with it long term. I do have one area where a brown spot is returning--sometimes I go out in the early morning sun to putter in my garden before I put on sunscreen. You do have to be fanatical about sun exposure from now on.

I hope this helps. I will be glad to answer any more questions you have.

Has anyone used this and with what kind of results? I have melasma that I was thinking IPL laser could fix. Apparently that can actually make it worse! The derm suggested Obagi but at about $200 to jump in I want to know it's going to make a difference! I use over the counter stuff that claims to even skin tone now but it doens't really do much of anything. :{
