It doesn't excuse her behavior, but some times the best docs clinically are the worst in bedside manner. Neuro docs seem to particularly embody this trait. </p> <p>By the way, have you heard of absence seizures? Unless those have been ruled out, you could be epileptic and not be aware you are. I do *not* like this lady! The first thing she told me is that I am obese (according to my BMI) and should loose 25 pounds. She recommended adding a multi vitamin and limiting myself to an 1800 calorie diet (which is about 500 more calories than I eat now!) Then she told me that the 'spots' on my arms are genetic and could indicate epilepsy. (Even though I don't have any signs of seizures)<br /> I'm not kidding here- 'spots' was the term that she used. I'm having a 72 hour ambulatory EEG done in a couple weeks- which means they strap a big machine to my head and I get to wear it for three days while I carry a big battery pack around. Honestly, I think this lady is just whackadoodle- but I will get whatever tests she wants done to get more information. She mentioned some other tests that she may want to do if the other doctor hasn't already done them. They will get the records sent over, and I will see her in about a month. I'm hoping that by the time I see my regular doctor in October either I have some more information, or he can recommend someone better.<br /> Don't ya love the Medical Merry Go Round?!? </p>
