I've seriously considered getting involved with animal rescue in the future when I'm in a situation where I could devote that level of time - and when I'm living in a location that allows it. When he failed suddenly we had to let him go. My neighbor urged me to take in a cat needing health care. She volunteers for a shelter. I am feeling better today - still missing Kiki, but knowing that he is no longer suffering. My husband and I provide hospice care for animals from our local animal shelter (so you think I would be used to this by now - but I'm not - I ALWAYS fall in love with them, no matter what their personality!) We currently have 2 more hospice cats living at our house, along with our 17 year old cat - so I know that we will be going through it again - but it is sooooo worth it!
