Whew. Wear that sunscreen, indeed - you have such lovely skin!</p> <p>I had a scare in college. I'd been in Hawaii and had sunscreen on, but was in the sun a lot. After swimming, my mom noticed a patch on my back that was bright red, about the size of your thumbnail, despite no burns on the rest of my skin. A day later it faded to be totally white. I was a bit worried, but my dermatologist diagnosed it as a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halo_nevus">halo nevus</a>, and it's almost gone away.</p> <p>BTW: I suffer from seasonal eczema, usually on my hands but occasionally on my face. Shea butter cream and lotion are *really* helpful - very moisturizing without irritating at all. Using jojoba oil to cleanse the makeup off my face at night has helped, too. I had checked earlier to find out how it went but was a bit too early. Great news. You must be very relieved. Did the dermatologist give you a steroid cream for it? If not, the 1% OTC works fairly well. A dear friend of my parents died of skin cancer several decades ago. She was a sun worshipper, and really suffered from the cancer. It even spread to her eyes. It was so long ago that I believe she just didn't know about the importance of sunscreen.</p> <p>These days, most people know they should protect their skin. I always use sunscreen and never go into the sun already so after this scare, I intend to be even more diligent </p>
