Ceit, thank you , I noticed that my weight does fluctuate a lot especially in certain times of the month. And I do know that with my kind of build sports usually don't make me look thin and trim but broad shouldered and healthy.
I just wanted to know up to which point this is muscle gain .I guess my jeans freak me out although everything else pretty much fits the same way.

A gym I used to go to had these rubber replicas of muscle and fat in 5 lbs at the front desk. I found a youtube video with a lady holding them and explaining some of what you are asking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozt-V0PPJaw

It isn't just that muscle weighs more, it is that muscle is denser than fat. So you have lost inches in your measurements, but you can still weigh the same.

There are fairly large fluctuations in weight in most women due to water also. I quite often will shift 5lbs over the course of a couple days, and it is just water weight.

Good for you for taking up a sport, and I hope you continue to see changes you like in your body.

Sorry, this is highly OT but I know some of you are experts in this things so I thought I asked.
After I had DD I lost a lot of weight (some say too much) and it was visible at naked eye that I didn't have almost any muscle left in me.
Around December last year I was complaining that I had gain some weight and decided to start a sport.I don't do any machines or weights but I do have muscle definition and everything is less bouncy(if you now what I mean). In terms of measurements from December till now I have lost 1cm in hips and 2 or 3 in waist. But I weight the same.
I do know that muscle weights more than fat, but how much weight gain is normal when gaining muscle?

Also there are a pair of jeans that are smaller but probably that has to do with my dryer happy personality.

Can you please help me understand this ?
Thank you for looking.
