I am surprised everyday at work by just how observant the kids are especially of my clothes. A case in point just the other week one said I like your necklace but i prefer the blue one you had on last week x

So cute. Kids say the most awesome things.

I can tell that my two year old son watches what I wear closely. He comments on the most surprising things.

We were at CostCo the other of all places. He pointed out to a box of slippers and said "look how cute Mommy!". I asked if I he thinks I should buy them. He said "Yeah! For sure!" Can you believe this guy? I went for the muted blue and he insisted I get bright pink. Now I smile all the time when my eye catches my slippers.

LOL especially at our love of cleaning! At least it wasn't sitting on the couch watching soaps.
I know that even young children notice what we wear. Once a 6-year-old boy got so upset with me because I was wearing an animal print blouse. It wasn't fuzzy or fleece, just a print, but I couldn't convince him that an animal wasn't killed to make my clothing. I've stayed away from animal prints since.

I spent around 3 hours at school helping out in my daughters classroom this morning, and one of my tasks was to help the kid's wrap their Mother's Day pressies...

One of the things they have done for us is to write a little story based on the answers to a series of questions the teacher asked. One of the questions was "What does your mum like to wear/what are her favourite clothes?"

Now whilst I was collating all the gifts, I read through all the answers and, OMG, for 5 & 6 year olds, they are SO observant already!

The boys answers generally made me laugh - they were things like "she likes normal clothes like shorts and t shirts" but the girls, gosh they were particular!

One little girl commented on her mum wearing things both on and off the shoulder (and her mum does!), and another one talked about her mum's love of dresses...

And yes, I'm a naughty mummy and read my daughters - apparently my favourite clothes are dresses with belts!!! But E came to me and told me she forgot to say how much I love the clothes I wear when I go out with her uncles!

It just made my day reading how observant our little cherubs are even at this age, and encouraged me to keep being discerning about it so that I can be a good role model for my girls.

Overall I think most of the kids summed up most of their mum's pretty well - except they almost all said our favourite thing to do around the house was "cleaning"!!
