As for Haiti and the Dominican Republic they are just as vulnerable as we are here in Mississippi. It's part of life near the ocean. We simply dodged a bullet this time. But that doesn't cause me to diminish prayer. Many in our town were not so blessed, which makes it all the more of a miracle in our eyes. I'm sorry you don't see it that way. Perhaps you will consider Katrina, which left our church, 6 miles inland, under 13 ft of water. It decimated our town taking absolutely everything to the dirt, leaving it completely unrecognizable like a war zone. Many, many souls lost their lives in our city during that storm. It has been quite a week! We evacuated to Tennessee, on our way back to Mississippi now. If you have watched the news then you probably saw our town (Bay St Louis) flooded. Isaac turned out to be a little Katrina, some would argue he was worse. When we saw the TV reports we feared devastating loss. As the reports came in we prepared to face the worst.Near the church water was 5ft, streets and homes were flooded. Finally on Thursday we got word...our church and our home were completely unaffected! We are praising God for what can only be described as a miracle. Every one of our chickens made it, all of our landscaping is just as we left it, as if nothing happened at all! Thank you for your prayers, God answered mightily! I'll be back on as soon as we are settled. Pray for the hundreds who have lost homes and even lives...it is devastating.
