Oooh Khris that looks awesome! The handles are such a great finish. We recently painted a mirror frame that was done up to look older so it would look even older (from brass to white); it had some splattered black texturing on it, and ended up looking like stone because the white paint didn't completely cover the texture. I bet you could use something like that in small bits for quirkier distressing!

That is so cool!

I'm a huge fan of spray painting for an easy change-up. When my son was born I spent a lot of time watching HGTV while I was home with him, and that resulted in me spray-painting everything in sight for a while. Also lots of staple-gun action and homemade pillow covers. My husband was kind of relieved when I went back to work.

I am re-decorating the kids bedrooms for Christmas. My son is really into the Steam Punk look, so I decided to use his same modern furniture, but to age them. This is the first finished piece, and he really likes it- in fact he asked if we could also do his bed frame this way. This is a metal dresser that was originally a bright, shiny cobalt blue. I lightly sanded, spray primed white, sprayed a satin gray, did a wash of black craft paint, a wash of raw sienna craft paint, and a wash of burnt sienna craft paint. The shiny silver handles got a light sanding, a sponging of raw sienna and a sponging of burnt sienna. Everything got a coating of matte clear finish to hold it all together. The finished effect didn't photograph very well, but it gave it a nicely aged and rusted look.
Now I am working on his other dresser (same design in a wider frame), and his desk- which we are giving a slightly different distressed look.
