Another plug for Vitamin C. I've started using Avalon Vitamin C face wash and it's been very dramatic. For the longest time, if I just slapped on some peptide cream that did the trick, but it stopped being a miracle.

For lips, I use petroleum jelly. It's my one great sin. I'm no doubt killing myself, but it's really good against drying and chapping. I like Dr. Hauschka's *chapstick* too.

agrace, I hear you loud and clear. My skin changed dramatically in my 30s, and it's taken some trial and error to figure it all out.

My skin care routine now involves daily moisturizer with an SPF 30 sunscreen (CeraVe), an AHA moisturizer once a week for exfoliation, and a night cream every night. Exercise, water, sleep, and good nutrition has also made a difference. I'm not always up to snuff in those areas, though I do try to maintain consistency.

I am 58 and proud to say I have gorgeous skin. Pretty much have had great skin all my life. Last year I started to get monthly facials and the dryness I was beginning to experience is gone. I have no lines or wrinkles on my face just like my mom who lived to age 90 with beautiful skin and while her diet was not the greatest she always stayed out of the sun and drank lots and lots of tea.

I use Cetaphil gentle cleanser on my face and Cerave moisturizer. I use sunscreen everyday. I stay hydrated and in addition to water , I drink tea with lemon most days. i have never been big on sugary drinks or snacks preferring a handful of almonds, walnuts, or peanuts or fruit as a snack.

I do not use retinoids but do use glycolic acid serum once or twice a week. I also exfoliate twice a week and use a hydrating mask twice a week all before I step into the shower.

I used to use Avon Anew products years ago that worked well on my skin, but I like my new skin regimen better.

Drink your water...eat healthy, exercise..you know the drill...
However, I can add a new skin product that I have been using and I absolutely love...Its L;Oreal exquisite glow 8 essential oils...I use it am, and pm after I clean my face and before I put on creme or moisturizer...It is like the Aveda oil that they use on your scalp in an Aveda salon...I am going this week-end to get a spare bottle as too often, these are discontinued just as I start to love them...Good luck..

Depends on how "crunchy" you are (I know my methods aren't for everyone. LOL).

Sleep, hydration, eating your veggies - those are all crucial, of course, but wow, can they be difficult to incorporate! If you can't quite get your veggies in, make sure you take your vitamins.
As for skin, I have *always* had problem skin - cystic acne bad (I have scarring to this day) - and I've always been on a mission something to help. Several years ago, I started incorporating oil cleaning methods into my regime, and immediately started getting compliments on the textture of my skin! It sounds crazy, but it's been a lifesaver for me. I know a lot of people have to monkey with their oil mixtures (common oils are castor, olive, apricot kernal, grapeseed, and jojoba) to get the right balance, but since I've always had very, very oily skin, I use straight castor oil, and moisturise with a customised Oil of Olay bled (I mix tea tree, lavendar, and ylang ylang, with a bit of apricot kernal oil, into my OoO).
For what it's worth, I will be turning 40 in three months, and I'm often mistaken to be in my mid-20s -- by people in their mid-20s. Which to me is a ringing endorsement. *laugh*

Drinking lots of water every day is very
important to have a beautiful and glowing skin. Our body is composed of water
and we need to drink plenty of water to keep our body hydrated. You can also
use a product with Vitamin C to bring back the glow in your skin. You can use
Essenzza Health natural facial mask with Vitamin C and Argan oil to hydrate
your skin.

I really like the Philosophy skin care line. I don't use it regularly, it's too expensive, but you might check out the "make-up optional" kit for a little boost!

http://www.philosophy.com/web/.....ional-skin

Do you ever steam your face? Put a big pot of water on the stove, bring it to a boil, turn it off, then put a towel over your head and lean over it (not too close and careful about the burner). It always gives my skin a nice glow!

Of course getting more sleep, plenty of water and a healthy diet are ideal. You will start to notice certain changes in your skin about this age (or I did anyway). There are daily moisturizers that hep brighten your skin- look for those at the drugstore. I used to use one by Aveeno that I thought worked well.
Oh and don't underestimate the power of blush!

Creams with vitamine C helps.
You should sleep more, drink more water and eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, if not possible, use a light foundation and a peach gloss!

For starters, I realize that part of this might be I am now 32 and simply not going to have the skin I was used to enjoying through my twenties. So that may be the answer to my query. But my skin has really just lost it's glow. I do use Retin-A every other night from a prescription from my dermatologist but I know my bad habits include:
-about 5 hours of sleep a night
-I don't drink very much water
-waaay too much caffeine (see first bad habit :)

I've noticed even my lips seem to not be as full of color as usual. Any tips to improve skin and get more of a natural glow back?
