I had missed the original post (which I've gone back to read.) How terrifying that must have been! Not that a migraine (especially a super-migraine like this) is any fun, but I am VERY glad that it was not a stroke and that you are okay now.</p> <p>Are you prone to more typical migraines? I'd never had them until just about two years ago. Strangely, switching birth control pills did it to me because I had a longer placebo period (7 days rather than 4) and my migraines always occurred around the 4th/5th day of the placebo week. We reviewed what happened to me and given that my symptoms resolved in about an hour and that I was on my period when everything went down. She thinks it was a atypical migraine. I may never get one again, or it may happen two or three times a year.<br /> If it happens again but symptoms resolve in an hour I don't need to go the ER. If I have different symptoms or they don't resolve then I am to go to the ER.<br /> The upside of all this I now have a deeper sense of empathy for what my patients have to go through. </p>
