I've been spending a lot of time on the phone with my mom and sister and we keep trying to guess what she would have said about her funeral and stuff. I'm an truly touched, you are such a warm and caring group Grandma was a fixture at any and all family functions so it is just hard to picture her not there, you know what I mean? </p> <p>Angie, You are so right. We are all mostly done grieving and have been reliving all those memories. My mom, her brother, my sister and brother are off on holiday to go to all of grandma's favourite holy sites to spread her ashes. My mom seems strangely energized and is brimming with ideas of instituting a scholarship/monetary award in her mother's name for deserving students in her college (she teaches English). About 3 days ago, after living a very full life of 95 years, she passed away. As far as anyone could tell, she wasn't in any kind of pain and only struggled in the last few minutes. I guess that is all we could ask for - for her to go away peacefully. Since we have been expecting this, I thought I was mentally prepared. But one never really can be prepared for such things, I think. My biggest concern was for my mother, but she has stayed strong.</p> <p>I haven't been posting but the forum, the site and my work have been such welcome distractions. Thank you so much for all your support when I talked about my grandma earlier. </p>
