What a lovely coincidence CC! I was just about to pop this book into our bookstore. The combination of trying your hand at eBay selling and the collector's aspect (bags in particular:-) really speaks to me too. And I always love a good light read with a fashion angle!

I do admire the clean lines and craftmanship of Hermès bags, and I could be seduced by one in a fab colour...

Thank you for the recommendation, that does sound like a great light read. I am also not overly enamoured with the Birkin but do have a soft spot for the Kelly :-/

Yesterday I had fun reading "Bringing Home the Birkin" by Michael Tonello. It's the tale of an American living in Barcelona, who inadvertently becomes a Hermes product reseller on eBay. He's a good writer with a great sense of humor & adventure, and a good heart. Even after reading the book & looking at the photos, I still don't get why anyone would want a Birkin, especially made from endangered animals. But that's just me...fortunately it won't be an issue in my life
