The weather is a little better tonight so hopefully no more neighbourhoods will go up. Last night there were dry thunderstorms and a strong dry wind that blew the fire in unpredictable directions and it was very difficult to fight.</p> <p>They are not saying just how many houses have been destroyed but something like 32,000 people have been evacuated. I still can't get over the pictures of that fire. It seems to have gone 'weird' the other day and gotten way out of control, somehow, due to changes in the wind and the extremely dry and hot temperatures of late. </p> <p>Are you there now Mander? In CO Springs, or nearby? I read that every single hotel/motel in CO Springs is fully booked. I spoke with her last night and she thought they were safe, but the fire doubled in size overnight and they have been told to stand by to evacuate. Very scary.
