In the shower, on wet hair after the shower and to detangle dry hair. It's good for not snagging even if hair is knotted. My cousin uses one on her daughter and no more screaming to get the knots out x

Scarlet, I guess you're right, I should have posted it not in the OT folder. I was thinking OT to clothing but it is a beauty-related question. I've got fairly thick hair, or actually each hair is average but I've got lots of it (dense?) and it's wavy, able to be straightened or hold a curl. I am a total hair sloth and usually let my hair air-dry, and if I blow dry it I've just been using my hands. I've got a flat iron that I use to control sticky-out bits. I usually use a styling cream when it's wet and then let it dry.

Louise, do you use that in the shower, or just on wet hair afterward?

Do you mean for dry hair or for blow drying? Also what kind of hair do you have? For blow-drying I actually love a $3 no-name double sided plastic hairbrush with vents. I noticed my husband has taken to it as well. The smoothness/frizz control for me comes from products, blow-drying technique, and a good blow dryer. If you mean just to brush your dry hair then I think a paddle brush with a mix of boar bristles and nylon bristles is the best thing. I read that the ones from Sonia Kashuk or Ricky's are good value for money. I have one I really like from Hercules Saegemann, but I don't know if that is sold in the U.S.

ETA: by the way, this isn't off topic to me. More like a tangent. Hair is key.

I love my Aveda paddle brush. I actually bought a replacement exact one when the first died. I think it was about $20 at a hair salon?? I'll see if I can't find a link somewhere. (of course, I have quite long hair, so maybe my idea of a good brush is different than yours?) I also use a round barrel brush to dry the front of my hair/bangs sometimes. Conair cheapy one for that.

While my hair was short I used a comb or my fingers most of the time, but now it’s getting longer again I’ve been wanting a decent hairbrush. I’ve read that certain designs or materials can really help with smoothness and frizz. Do you have a favorite hairbrush or hairbrush type?
