Thanks for your feedback! :-)

I am glad that regardless of location, I'm not alone and you have also noticed that there seems to be some sort of weather "quirk" peculiar to the area you reside!

Being new to sub-tropical QLD, I'm still battling with the how to look presentable when I have to go out and do the school pick-up in really rainy weather, particularly during our summer.

As such, do any of you ladies own or are you aware of any heavy-duty raincoats in existance that 'breathe' (for lack of a better word) so I don't feel like I am wearing a portable sauna? And could you tell me what sort of footwear you use?

That's what you get for living in the tropics! I'd say that calls for a cute umbrella katiepea!!! I have this cute leopard print umbrella I bought for $3 from the reject shop last year when I got caught out in the rain. Love it!!!

I have no idea about Queensland, but I know when I was in Bali it rained at 2:45 nearly every day we were there. After a couple of days we'd start to look for a shop or bar at 2:30 so that we'd have somewhere interesting to wait in. I bet Bali and Queensland are close enough to get similar tropical patterns

That's a good question I think it's true: it rains either just after sunrise or afternoons - and I live far, far away from Australia. The worst thing is that we have storms almost everyday from May to July (I like watching storms, but I don't like being soaked - and my poor dog is very afraid of thunders).

LOL KP that's so funny!

I must admit, up here, its been raining between 8.30-9am - school drop off time, rather than afternoons though. So same situation just different end of the day.

Drives me nuts! But, my brothers girlfriend just told me that if you buy some magazine at the moment it has a free umbrella with it that is actually a really cool umbrella! (I think it was Dolly but I can't quite remember what she said - will have to check).

So I guess if we have a cool umbrella it might be more tolerable LOL

Yep though here it is between 3.15 when the gates open to parents and 3.30 when the children finish school luckily we have canopies outside each room but the dash from car to school means a lot of soggy wet parents! x

Yep!!! Although at the moment, here in the west, it is more likely to be unseasonably warm at that point. But I have been caught once already this year.

Firstly, I hope you don't mind me posing a question that has absolutely nothing to do with fashion or style, however, as my hair is now wet and my trousers are soggy (as a result of thread title), I just have to ask! :-)

Q - Where you live, have you noticed that statistically, it is more likely to pour with rain between 2.50pm and 3.15pm (right when kidlets are due to be collected from school) than any other time time of day?

I'm really curious as to whether this weather (tee - hee, yes word use intentional!) is a world-wide phenomenom that other mum's have noticed, irrespective of geography, or whether the weather is just a QLD, Australia quirk.

As this is an international forum, I thought I'd ask out of pure curiosity - Hope you don't mind!
