He went through these ridiculous day-long interviews, panels and all of that, only to find out that they weren't going to hire for that position after all (funding got pulled). The company never ended up hiring for the position (newly created) at all. </p> <p>In the meantime, the next company that called him a few weeks later, flew him in for a series of interviews - and made a much better offer. In fact, that next offer was ridiculously good - salary was way better, and there were all kinds of 'extras' offered in order to convince him to take the job. Yes, I said "convince" him to take the job. </p> <p>I tend to think that the reason my husband did this round of eight-hour days of interviews with that other company was to prepare him and almost 'relax' him for the opportunity that was coming up. By the time the other company called, my husband was in *good* shape - had seen it all, done it all, and he waltzed in there in his super-sharp looking suit, having already been through the wringer, so to speak. </p> <p>There wasn't anything they could 'do' to him that would ruffle his feathers, if that makes sense. </p> <p>I guess what I'm saying is that I have a funny feeling that there is something really good coming up for you and that this whole exercise is in preparation for something. </p> <p>There is a (good) reason things are going the way they are. There is something much better coming your way, and this is all in preparation for something special. The clothes are all ready, you've done some prep-work, some interviews. You're in fine shape for what's coming down the pipe in mere weeks. </p> <p>Hang in there, and know that you're on your way. I didn't get it. I am feeling a bit discouraged, but I am sure that something is bound to come my way at some point, right? On the bright side, I don't have to look for formal pants in a hurry. I can take the time out to find the perfect pair and be prepared for whatever, whenever.</p> <p>Thanks to those who gave me advice on an interview outfit and wished me luck.
