My DH had abdominal surgery last March to make repairs after an earlier surgery. I know recovery is a painful and difficult time for patient and caregiver. My Dh is completely recovered now and so much better than before. Best wishes for a similar outcome for your DH.</p> <p>Hang on though. The first week or two after he is back home will be a major challenge for you. I believe I had the same surgery 7 years ago (removal of half of the large intestine to get a tumor) and had the dreaded GI tube for 7 days after. I can say that although the progress is initially slow, once the healing is underway the recovery is exponential. </p> <p>I wish you well.
