If you're uploading to this site, you can click the "Add a Photo" button in the YLF Thread. Then choose the colored iPhoto Library icon at the far left of the finder window, toward the bottom (*instead* of going to MyPhotos like you would on a PC). This will bring you to a menu that shows you all of your iPhoto events, albums, etc. and you can browse for your photos from there.

If you want to open the picture in another program, copy it to a thumb drive, or something like that - select the photos you want, then go to file>reveal in finder. Then you don't have to have multiple copies of everything floating around and taking up space.

Yes, you can export as jpeg from iPhoto just like Ana said.

I prefer not to use iPhoto for WIW pictures but instead open my camera memory as an external drive (just browse to it in your Finder window) and double-click pictures. I think this usually open them in Preview and you can do "save as" jpeg.

The reason I don't like to export them into iPhoto is because I don't want them to show up in my slide shows for friends and family and it is easier to save them into appropriate folders this way.

I think you need to export your photos out of iPhoto first, and make sure you export them to a file format that YLF supports (JPEG is the most common). Does that make sense? There should be an option to export File > Export and then some options will pop up (where to save it, etc.). Then you can upload to YLF from wherever you saved your pictures on your computer.

I got a dismal message Christmas Eve - hard drive failure imminent. So while a tech is trying to save my data I took the opportunity to switch to Mac. I've been a PC user for 30 years so this is exciting and new. I'm having fun playing with my new toy.

I have a couple of photos I've moved to iPhoto but it looks like I can't upload because of invalid extension name. Can anyone help with this?
