When I was a kid, my dad used telemarketers. We had fairly early dinner time and would often get calls from telemarketers during our meal. My dad would answer the phone and start talking about us kids and our behavior, pretending that the telemarketers were Santa and his elves calling for an update. My dad is a masterful liar/storyteller-- it was awesome! Plus, we ate all our vegetables that way.
