Anne ... I love your Emmeline aprons. I have that pattern (somewhere ... I need to find it!) and have been wanting to make one! So cute ... something so Pride and Prejudice about that empire line and gathered bust.

My apron is one my husband won in a competition - it's got Remy from Ratatouille on it, and is rather large (man-sized?). I have to tie a knot in the neck strap to get it to hang in the right place

But maybe I should get one that's a bit more me-sized, I love all the pretty ones you ladies have.

Anne - those are so cool! I would be buying if you were in Australia. And when you first joined YLF I had a quick look at some of them on your website and was impressed, but never told you.

Maya - I use aprons most especially for washing up - otherwise I get my clothes wet almost every time.

I have also done my time with a full apron with the bib part down, so I could breastfeed. Not a classy look!

Anne! You are so talented. Those look like something you could buy from Anthropologie.

I am too lousy of a cook to do justice to an apron. Aprons are like a badge of honor to me. I am not worthy

I rarely wear aprons, but I LOVE to make them (and sell them). I've taken a break from apron production for awhile now, but here's a whole Flickr set of my creations. Most of them are original designs made without patterns.

How fun! Mine is yellow with orange and green flowers on it, pretty cute.

I like hearing that others wear aprons. I have an apron hang-up and I'm not sure why.

It seems like modern women don't wear these anymore because you never see one on TV - silly, I know. Honestly I've ruined so many tops cooking that it's just not worth it.

My mom always wore one too!

I can't get over my hang up enough to wear it when people are over and I'm cooking - do you wear your apron when people are over?

Wow, those are great !

I love the idea of a pretty apron...there is no reason that utilitarian things can't be pretty. My mom always had lovely aprons that she sewed herself.

I have one that is white, tipped in red and has all the islands of the Azores on it. It is also covered in lovely hydrangea ( a "wild" flower in the Azores )

Oh WOW dusty, that apron is amazing! Between the v-neck and the waistband it looks like it wants to be a dress!

AJ, thanks! The soft colors are because it actually used to be two little baby "blankets" I got at the goodwill!

Here's mine and, surprisingly, I didn't make it. I got it in an apron swap, though, so I did make one I just didn't get to keep it (although I do like the one I got better than the one I made!).

I spend hours every day in an apron and often think I should invest a bit of money on a nicer one. I am not going to show you mine - too old and grubby!

I like both of yours !

very cute! I sewed an apron for myself a couple months back, it looks like this: http://hphotos-snc3.fbcdn.net/.....7897_n.jpg (let me know if for some reason this link doesn't work)

I've definitely gotten a little more comfortable in the kitchen but meal preparation is not something I luv doing. To help at least put a smile on my face, I got a cute apron (sorry for the blurry pic):
http://www.flickr.com/photos/w.....779033280/

So how about you? What does your apron look like? What is your kitchen tool or accessory that puts a smile on your face and a spring in your meal prep?
