It was painful at first, but I'd imagine waxing and threading-anything that pulls the hair out by the roots-is too. After a while, a few years, I barely felt it and the hairs came back more slowly and sparse. I don't feel any pain now when I tweeze my brows.

I have rectangular unibrow that is sparse but with thick individual hairs that refuse to be waxed (rare to be offered brow waxing in India, so only ever tried that once); I get them threaded maybe once a year or so, to adjust shape, and then tweeze.

Rationale: I'm fussy and impatient. I refuse to wait to grow stubble long enough for threading every couple of weeks(!). I hate going to salons and beauty parlours almost as much as I love my dentist :-/ . I won't let anyone touch the top of my brows --- threading from the top looks... not natural enough for me!, plus they always try to gently curve my sharp angles, which I actually am rather fond of. And I like to push my eyebrows a little further apart than 'ideal' because it creates the illusion of pushing my close-together eyes apart.

So I guess I'd thread or wax if I had (1) more patience (2) thicker skin literally and figuratively (3) less stubborn hair follicles (4) greater sociability which allowed me to relax in a salon situation. As it is, my sensitive skin and I prefer tweezing because you can give up halfway without it looking weird --- I just pluck a few at a time per side, each day. And I much prefer the softer line (less 'precisely' drawn, if you like) that results.

If you prefer great neatness and have less time on your hands, waxing or threading seem to be better bets --- and of those, threading is more precise still.

Looks like tweezing is the fav option around but aren't they painful????

I tweeze my own. It appeals to my control freak side. =P
Seriously, though, my brows are fairly sparse so all I do is pluck away the strays and do a tiny bit of shaping. I am also paranoid of having it professionally done because I tend to think that many professionals are too aggressive with the shaping.

You and me both, Christieanne! I think it's almost become an obsession - the second I can feel those hairs starting to grow out, the sensation drives me *nuts* until they are just long enough to grab with tweezers! I don't think I could stand growing them out long enough to wax or thread.

A lot of people on beauty boards are converting from waxing to threading, and threading places are popping up in Western countries.

I don't like either for my brows as I too prefer the controlled shaping of tweezers (I do it myself though).

However for other parts of the face I sometimes do my own threading (learnt on Youtube - I'm slow though). I won't wax as I think wax pulling on every part of the skin is worse than threading, which just pulls hairs. My skin is awful and red and breakout prone after waxing.

My brows are very thick and deep-rooted and it used to take me forever to tweeze them with any discernible effect, so I gave up trying. For the last 8 or 9 years I have been getting my brows waxed or threaded. I don't know as many good threaders but I do know several good waxers, so I tend to get them waxed because it's more convenient here. My skin is sensitive too, and I find threading to be somewhat less irritating.

(Edited to add: In my profile pic, my brows had been waxed a little thinner than usual. Usually I prefer them to be closer to their natural shape and thickness. Believe me, they are very thick, unruly, and almost a unibrow when left to their own devices!)

Tweezing is the norm here too (Belgium), although I had mine waxed once as well. Like Scarlet I prefer the more natural look you get with tweezing. I have no experience with threading though.

I live in Germany and the norm here seems to be tweezing, which I LOVE. It looks much more natural than waxing. But there are also lots of Turkish and I suppose other places to go for threading. I never tried threading.

I use a combibation of threading & waxing but prefer threading much cheaper & takes far less time. No difference in pain factor between the two.

I get mine waxed. Here in the UK we do have threading bars, Lucy who does my waxing doesn't recommend it as it can break the hair off at the root rather than pluck it out. It could be she was just saying that to prevent me giving it a go but I think if she thought it was any good she'd go and get trained to do it she does pretty much anything else treatment related x

I have always got my eyebrows threaded. It's a common practice here in India.

Now that I moving to Europe, I was just wondering if I continue threading it , or some other option is better solution...

I am a pretty sensitive skin so I have always had problems with threading, i get cut easily...

Solutions please :)

Thanks in advance
