Well I love the dress. Such a striking red. I prefer the white and ink jackets with the dress but that is my personal preference. While I like faded denim on others it's not my favourite:( I like the idea of the pants but they do look big on you. I think they may be worth altering because the overall look is good. And I really like the boots. I think you height allows you to wear a flat boot without it looking shortening and worn with pants over them or tucked both work. As Angie suggests re red footwear, treat them as a neutral and wear them with everything:)

I like the light of dark jacket with the dress best, because they provide a better contrast with the pattern and doesn't compete with the dress, which is gorgeous, btw. Te faded denim jacket is very nice and should deserve a space in your wardrobe for combinations with simple white tees, shirts etc, and also with dark colors. Maybe you don't choose that one because you prefer more contrast in your outfits? I think the pants are difficult to give advice on, so I'll leave that to others. They look fine to me.

The pants are not jeans but a heavy stretch cotton. I will see how much it costs to alter them & try them on again & see. They aren't as drapey as a lot of softer fabrics used on other trousers so I'm not sure. And they were designed to be worn fitted so I don't know if wearing a fitted garment too big works as well as one designed to be big. I could also keep them as one of very few pieces saved for if I gain weight again. I got rid of so much & bought a lot for my new weight. I have a hypothyroid problem so I can't be sure of I won't gain weight right now & nothing will fit yikes!

I like the faded blue jacket with the black pants and white tee. Perfection. I think the trick is to pair the blue denim with more polished pieces, for the contrast. I do like it with the dress and the silver sandals. All of the jackets look good with the dress, which is a really cool style and looks great on you.

On the pants, I think tapering will probably work. Karie has a good point about the fabric though.

I like the booties as styled in the last photo. (That gives a good impression of how the pants will look tapered, too, I think--very nice!) Again, I really like the way they go with the simple black, white, and denim look. You are the mistress of slouch in that photo (style, not posture)!

I like your faded denim jacket with the maxi dress. Interestingly enough, I almost always choose my faded denim jacket over my white or ink blue ones because I think the faded one looks better with my outfits.

The maxi dress is very pretty, I like it with all of the jackets. As for your pants, are they a denim jean fabric? If they are, you could taper them at the bottom and wear them as BF style. If they have a lot of stretch in them, I don't think they would look right as BF slouchy pants.

The dress is gorgeous on you. With its graphic stripes maybe you prefer the solid white or black jackets because they don't fight with the pattern at all. The blue one with its varied shading looks good to me too, but it does compete a bit with the dress. I love it with the black jeans and simple, white tee though. I don't have any advice on altering the jeans - black is so hard to photograph and I can't tell just how big they are on you.

I never wear my faded blue denim jacket. I think it is because I have 2 other denim jackets, a white one & an ink blue one. The faded denim never looks as good with my outfits.

I've also shown the jacket with some orphan pants that are too big for me & orphan booties. I never wear these booties. I usually wear my low heeled taupe suede booties. I have these ones in taupe also but usually prefer my Sam Edelman Louie as I find it more flattering due to heel, lower on leg & fitted at ankle. I do like these though so please give me some ideas.

Pics 1 & 2 - Faded denim jacket orphan with a silk maxi dress I bought in Australia with 2 different coloured shoes. Comments on the dress are welcome too.

Pics 3 & 4- The other denim jackets that I always choose, for insight as to why these are a better choice.

Pic 5 - The new dress, not an orphan but I don't want to do a separate post on the dress once I have shown it here to avoid boring you.

Pic 6, 7, 8 & 9 - Jacket with pants that are too big. They are supposed to be a fitted slight bootleg. They are wider at hem than the knee but not a lot so I call them a skinny bootleg. Now that oversized slouchy pants are in can I get them tapered at the bottom & still wear them? They are not a drapey fabric but a heavy stretch cotton that are great for skinnier fits.
