I do what Mo does, after reading her thread above.
Easier to see and work with than stacking, and no hanger marks on the shoulders.

I do hang my knits. They are sorted by type (cami, tank, short sleeve, etc) and then by color.

Ditto to what bj1111 said. I read this article online:
http://www.apartmenttherapy.co.....ser-136085

It's called the "fill in" method and I use it also. Easy to see everything. I employ this with my jeans too. Part of making the items stand up better is sort of a roll fold.

i don't hang knits, though angie has had success with this.

mo folds and lines up her knits in a drawer so she can see all her stuff at a glance. her post is second.

I also store most of my knits in a dresser. I like to fold them and put them in vertically so that i can see everything. Stacked layers never stay neat for me and I forget abut what's on the bottom.
I do hang cardigans, knit jackets and a few dressier knits. I use the foam hanger covers from the dry cleaners over my flat fuzzy finish hangers.

My closet is 24 inches wide, so I know what it feels like to have limited closet space! As a result, I actually fold my knits and keep them in a dresser because my closet space really does have to be limited to items that can hang. I fold them in stacks based on categories so that when I open the dresser drawer, I can see what type of knit it is. Right now I have the following types of knits folded up: v-neck sweaters, cowl neck sweaters, cardigans, long sleeve cotton shirts, short sleeve shirts, graphic t-shirts, etc. Basically, I stack like items with each other. I am a visual person and I thought I would struggle with this, but it's actually been pretty easy. I look forward to what other people say on this thread because I'm always looking for new ideas!

I wear quit a few knits, and I have struggled with how to organize them. I have an older home with limited closet space (so very few shelves) that I have to share with DH. I would like to hang them so I can see them, but I worry about stretching them.

How do you store your knits?
