You poor thing. I'm glad that you've had it x-rayed and that as a minimum nothing is broken/torn. You look so beautiful in your first photo and it is such a shame to see how much discomfort you must be in with the second. </p> <p>I wanted to add that when a member of my family comes home after injuring himself (three boys and a clutsy husband means this is a common occurence in my household), I always will ask in the first instance: "Did you at least make it look impressive?" [ie: how and where you hurt yourself] I figure if you are going to be in serious pain, you want a dramatic story to go along with it to tell the grandkids one day! </p> <p>On this basis and using the Katiepea "Official Scale of Injury Rankings" (aka OSIR) for all injuries incurred via unfortunate accidents, I am awarding this injury a *sustained in specatuclar fashion* ranking (one of my highest). I additionally award you a 10/10 for effort and effect! Just don't do it again. Only one 10/10 is permitted in a lifetime! :-)</p> <p>On a more serious note, I really do hope that the swelling and bruising subsides quickly and you are up and about sooner than you think. I got an xray and I have a severe sprain but no break!! yay! I can expect it stay swollen a lot longer than the usual 2 to 4 days so it's Rest Ice Compression and Elevation still. And FWIW, we got all dressed up in our clothes anyway and dined on the terrace by the pool of the hotel. The BF carried everything (me included) up there one trip at a time! It was extra sweet, actually.<br /> And thanks to the gentle prodding of you concerned ladies, I have an appt this afternoon at the chiropractor (I have neither insurance nor a regular doctor) to get it xray'd and looked at.
