My second was, "How are these going to hold up to scuffs?" They look like they are softly buffed leather, so if you do get them, definitely get them treated prior to wearing. A single black scuff on the toe would be heartbreak. I would pass personally, but only because I need a pair of $300 boots to wear for a few years for the investment to work for me. They are delicious, though! And the square toe doesn't bother me at all.
