For this style of jacket that you are looking at, it really will age beautifully if it's real leather. It didn't work for me because the knit insets let wind through and I wouldn't have been able to tolerate the jacket in hot temperatures. I have a faux leather jacket and I have just checked and it is polyurethane too. Mine does have side and arm panels in a ponte like fabric that allows stretch, making it a very comfortable jacket. I understand Deb's concerns but I haven't had any issues with mine re "airflow", it certainly doesn't make me perspire, feel restricted etc. not sure if this helps Lyn.
