I was planning to get the tan color, Janet. I think the black would look too stark on my pale legs, unless I wore them with tights. And it's too hot for tights right now, and will be for some time here!
Also, I just ordered a tan faux leather moto jacket (Kut from the Kloth), so I think the lighter color will work well with that without being too matchy.

I think they look quite workable. Which color? The tan might be easier to wear with skirts. I'm also 5'7" and a shoe size 8, and I can wear an Oxford like this with a skirt if it's not really high contrast with my skin. If it's too stark, I don't feel comfortable.

Good point about proportions. I have size 7 feet, and I'm 5'7". I think these shoes are "dainty" enough to work with a skirt. I think I may end up just wearing a skirt to the store and trying them! I have seen some cute outfits with oxfords and skirts, so I know it works on some people.

I like the shoes--I'm always on alert for good-looking flat, comfortable shoes that don't look like sneakers. I think they would go with jeans and khakis--nor sure about a skirt or a dress. I think that depends in part on your proportions, legs and feet. I wear a size 10 1/2 or 11 and this type shoe often looks off with a skirt and my long feet. As someone reportedly said about Princess Diana--it looked like she was wearing submarines for footwear. It is a problem for me, however, it might work very well for you. I'd like to see how they look on you.

I have been shopping for some shoes. I want something that can go with jeans, ponte pants, skirts and dresses, from casual to nice casual to church-appropriate. I like a vintage look, but I don't want them to be so vintagey that they look weird with a more modern outfit. And I don't want to spend too much! It seems like with oxfords, there are cheapo ones that are not leather, not very comfortable, and not very durable, and then there are expensive (well over $100) pairs that are out of my budget.

I finally found these. Do these look like they will work with, say, boyfriend jeans? Vintagey knee-length skirts? Skinny jeans? Casual jersey dresses? Khakis? I tried them on, and they are very soft leather and comfy. Thanks for your help!
