They also have a relatively thick sole for a ballet flat -- it doesn't feel like you're walking straight on the sidewalk. I would definitely give them a try. I wear mine all the time, and have since I got them -- I'm sure these will be very versatile for you. Also love the boots. Some of the Steve Maddens are a bit flimsy, but they're fun! I did have calf-width issues, and none of the zip-up boots worked, and neither did about half of the pull-ons (including none of the Fryes I tried). There were a number of options, though, and I'm just glad that it turns out I'm on the larger side of average, and I don't have to send away for boots. These were just $100 which is great, and which will probably mean I can get another pair of taller boots later this season if I want.
