That said, I want to echo what Vix said about its comfort level or lack thereof in hot weather. In addition to not breathing as well, patent also doesn't stretch/conform the way regular leather does, so if your feet swell in hot weather it will be doubly uncomfortable. And the navy are actually more of a year-round shoe IMO because you can wear them with dark tights/hose/pants whereas the lighter shoe seems more of a warm-weather staple.</p> <p>FWIW I find patent more uncomfortable in heat (because my feet swell and because patent doesn't breathe) but great in colder temps. </p> <p>If you go for the navy, try to avoid hitting the back of your shoes on your chair legs.
