I'm living in Kansas. We recently moved closer to Wichita to be closer to a city and closer to a place I'm familiar with, but I have struggled, even with cute local places finding things that are cute and my size. I lamented to my boyfriend this weekend that I worked so hard to get to a size 4 (I started out at a size 14 many years ago) and now that I'm here, I can't find clothes. Most of the clothing I found was a size 10 or larger. This wasn't even just on sale racks. Its just so frustrating. Here's to an era of online shopping for me! :).

Thanks everyone for your support!!

Sarah where in the midwest are you? My hubby moved our family to a tiny town in MN (pop. 3,500) but i'm lucky because the Mall of America is only a 45 min drive. Maybe you'll find out about some cute local places to shop!

I think your purchases will be cute, casual and comfy for summer. I hope everything fits great!

All your choices look great! The oxfords will go with everything you purchased.

I don't have much luck with online purchases. I almost always have to return. I prefer to go to the stores and try things on right there. Plus, being a mom of 3, it's nice to get out by myself and shop. : )

I like your choices, especially the striped dress. I do a lot of online shopping because I never seem to have time to get to real stores. My advice is to check the return policies carefully. Also, I tend to shop places that I've been to in real life and have a good idea of my size.

I love everything you bought, especially the last pair of shorts and shoes. Nice haul.

Shopping online definitely has its benefits. I do most of my shopping online and here are some of the reasons:

-Time. I don't need to travel and walk from one store to another, that are all in completely different locations. I often have multiple tabs open on my browser--one for each store. Much easier :)

-Ease. I can filter things more easily, and the stock list and product information is much easier to see up front (as opposed to going through 15 dresses looking for my size, and trying to find the label that has the material and care instructions...)

-Selection. There is far more variety online in my experience, and many styles are online exclusives.

-Nothing is sacrificed in the process. Nothing is more frustrating than going from store to store and not finding anything at all. I always feel so defeated, like I have wasted so much time and energy that I could have put to better use.

-Returns and exchanges are usually easy. I only shop at places that offer cheap or free shipping and returns, or in-store returns. Some stores give free shipping over a certain price, in which case I will buy multiple sizes of whatever I get to meet the minimum price, and just return whatever doesn't fit (most places I shop at have free or very inexpensive returns)

-Trying things on at home is a HUGE benefit compared to trying them on in store. I can see myself in my own mirror, experiment with whatever I have in my wardrobe, and really take the time to think over my purchases.

Yes, fit is an issue and having to make so many trips to the post office is a bit of a pain, but it's worth it in my experience!

My Boyfriend and I recently moved back to the midwest and I am having a terrible time shopping after leaving the wealth of stores in Seattle. I'm without Urban Outfitters, Nordstroms, Anthropologie, H&M, basically everything you don't find in the typical mall. I went out this weekend hunting for a few new summer dresses and found nothing. So, instead, I went to the internet, what do you guys think?

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com.....CH+RESULTS
in brown mustard

How did I do online? I am so worried about the fit of everything, I did my best, but I'm hoping I don't have to send everything back for different sizes...
