I use Twice because even though they don't pay much ( $3-4 an item, though I can't always tell if something went for more, haven't figured out the website completely and not sure I want to drill down that far even if I could), it is painless. Tape up a box, label, drop off. Cash check. Don't think about it (the cost differential) . It became even more appealing when they started taking purses and shoes.

I still donate lots of items to church and Goodwill, but I do target my "accepted name brands" for Twice. Somehow that has turned out to be the right approach for me right now. If I were more involved with a specific women-to-work charity or service, I would funnel things there--that' s also something I might like to do in my "next chapter".

I've only used Twice (liketwice.com) and been quite pleased with both buying and selling. It's not consignment per se, they offer you a flat amount to buy your clothes.

I've heard that you can make more if you resell your stuff directly on eBay or Poshmark, and if you have popular brands you can do quite well. But of course then you have to list everything yourself, deal with payments and shipping, etc.
