Since I am stepping up my participation in these events this year (I am in two wonderful gallery shows at the moment, with another big exhibition to be installed next month), I need good footwear that makes me feel good. </p> <p>Enter the Marc Fisher snake print Dalaran booties from NAS last year. I didn’t have super high expectations for these, comfort-wise, but they have exceeded my hopes. The refined cut works well with my bootcut jeans and trousers, they walk the casual/dressy line well, they are modern classic, and the heel height is ideal for me.</p> <p>I find myself trying to build outfits around them, so I decided to hunt down the same booties in black. Lo and behold, the Rack online had one pair left, in an 8, so I went for it. I will probably retire one or two pairs of old black boots to make room, as soon as I make sure these meet the same standard as my first pair. </p> <p>So, not super exciting, but if they work the way I think they will, they should be a workhorse. </p>
