Huh. Too 'loud for your personality'. I'm learning more and more about you Miss Rachel. So it's a subdued UWP vibe we are going for?

Mainly I didn't feel that "chemistry" with them the first time I put them on. Do you remember ever going on a date with a really cute guy that you inexplicably weren't attracted to? It was a mishmosh of the ankle width, the way the snapless portion of the spats bluged out a little in spat mode, the heel slippage, the unsnapping, and side view, and a weird feeling that they might be too "loud" for my personality. Nothing bothered me *that much,* but I went from, "OMG THEY'RE HERE! PUTTHEMONPUTTHEMON!" to, "Huh. Interesting. I'd better ask the YLF girls..."

I saw the tan ones but wanted to hold off on commenting till I knew the LR boot verdict. DID you know they weren't right from the start, and why? I'm just curious because I loved them on you, and am wondering if I'm wrong about them on me too. Even though I am wearing them again today! I guess if loving them is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Yes, Una, I sniffled a bit, too. I think I knew deep down they weren't right for me, but I loved them SO much that I was in complete denial. They are just gorgeous boots! But I'm glad I will still be able to see them and admire them in your WIWs. :)

I'm trying out some tan ones that I'm hoping will go with a black midi skirt, be able to cross over from work to play, and be able to cross over from winter to spring. Man, I am getting so demanding of my boots these days!

The Gap, Piperlime, ON - all have that frustrating return thing where if you get something with rewards, you have to do an exact exchange item (like a different size, but not color!), or the rewards get re-credited to you in a few months. So I end up using my reward points on things like gym shorts for my son, which I know I won't be returning.

So glad this worked out. I take it you're returning the boots? *sniffle* At least I know we'll find you something K-worthy!

Shannon, I agree. I don't want to be that person who only writes complaint letters. At the same time, I thought it'd be nice to point out the contortions the poor rep had to pull to satisfy a customer within their company rules.

Beth, I'd heard as much from others as well. I'm dreading what will happen if I have to exchange for another size or something like that. o_0

So glad it worked out Rae, and three cheers for Derek!

I can't say I'm surprised, though. While my experiences with Piperlime have been fine, the worst return (even exchange, same item, different size) experience I've ever had was with Gap, and they're part of the same company.

I haven't been back to Gap since.

Whoo hoo Derek! Glad to hear it worked out for you Rae - it will be nice for you to let them know about this. I think as customers we all too often complain when the service is bad but don't often praise when the service is good.

This makes my day, too. Thanks for sharing that. Sometimes it seems like good customer service is a thing of the past. It's good to know there's someone out there doing a great job and looking out for us customers!

yay!!! We need to toot the horns of those doing a great job. So many reviews are only when people are upset. This brightens my day!

(I also had a great CS experience with my Fitbit this week.)

Ahh...it's so great when customer service reps actually do put customer service ahead of company service. Such a rare thing these days! Yay Derek!

I was just about ready to spit this morning when I tried to do an even exchange with Piperlime. I was informed that, according to their policy 1) My gift cards could not be applied to the new item, 2) If I wanted to still use my GC balance for a new purchase, I'd have to wait for my return to be processed AND for new GCs to arrive in the mail, and 3) I'd have to wait 24-48 hours just to speak with a manager. This basically gave me the option to either pay $100 more out of pocket for my "even exchange" (I really felt like this is the *exact* reason such a stupid policy exists) or wait up to like 8-10 weeks to use the new GCs, at which time the item I want would probably be long gone. I grudgingly accepted the offer for a call back within 48 hours and laughed bitterly when the rep ended the call with "we appreciate your business."

I would never have shopped with Piperlime again, EXCEPT that I received a call about 1 hour later. Derek, the rep I spoke with said that he felt awful and didn't want my first experience with the company to be so negative, so he'd spoken with his manager and worked out a way to ship out my exchange NOW and apply my would-be gift card credit to the order. Exactly what I wanted in the first place, and a solution that made me a happy customer.

Thank you, Derek! I was about to lose faith in customer service, but you saved the day. I'm going to figure out how to write to Piperlime about your very kind and diligent efforts to help a new customer.
