Diana, my bikini top is also a bra size one. I never will be returning to regular sizes now that I now what a difference it makes. The support is amazing if you wear your bra size in a bikini, even when you have small breasts like me. Tankinis rolling up was always a problem for me too, but the one I have at the moment is wonderful and stays put fairly well.

I've always been a bikini girl. I don't like the feeling of being trapped inside a wet swimsuit. It sort of grosses me out. I'm afraid of the water though, so no athletics at the beach or the pool. I've never needed a sturdy suit. Sadly, my bikini days are behind me unless I do some serious weight training AND get a nip and tuck. Right now the idea of putting on a swimsuit at all is horrifying! LOL

I have two bathing suits, and both are two-pieces. The one I prefer wearing has boy-short bottoms, and I find them the most comfortable when I'm swimming or actually in choppy water. I am in the market for a once piece, though! I'm not well-endowed at all, so a lot of bikini tops aren't as flattering as they would be on someone with a fuller chest.

I usually have a bikini. I like that I can get different sizes on top and bottom, since I'm a pear, and that the tops are often sized in bra sizing which is easier to fit. I've not done any serious swimming for exercise for a long time though - in that case, I'd probably get an athletic suit (speedo or something) but honestly even then I'd consider the two-piece ones for fit reasons

FWIW, I have had 2 wardrobe malfunctions where my bathing suit slipped down while swimming. Both times, it was a one-piece.

Tankinis don't work for me at all, even though the concept is great. The top part is never cut right to stay down over my hips so they roll up and expose *just* the muffin top. Not a good look.

I have a two piece at the moment, with a tankini top. I bought it when I gained some weight and felt uncomfortable in my bikini. The top is a great fit, so I really like wearing it. I'm not wearing the bottoms that came with it though. I wear it on holidays and for swimming, but I'd love to get a onepiece to do sports. I haven't found one yet that fit me and looked halfway decent. As a pear I need lots of rear coverage and it's impossible to find a onepiece that provides enough and still fits on top.

At home, when I'm swimming in our pool or going to a local beach, etc., I usually wear a one-piece for ease of swimming. But when we go on vacation to a tropical/beach area, where I'll be doing more lounging with a book and bikinis seem far more prevalent, I wear bikinis, even though I'm in my late 40s and my body is not what it used to be. I actually feel less self-conscious wearing less suit, if it's what all the other women are wearing!

I love the idea of tankinis, but they never seem to look good on me. I think it's because I'm short-waisted.

Currently I only own bikinis for recreational fun (kind of happens when you live in southern california for an extended period of time). I own a shockingly high amount too, seriously how much time did I spend by the beach? However when I do any athletic swimming, I'll generally put on a rash guard or a wetsuit in the ocean. If I'm in the pool for masters swimming I go back to my tried and true one piece racer back speedo with a high neck and high cut legs (same swimsuit I wore in High School)!

I only have a 2 piece at the moment, but now that I'm back to the baby stage I would like a one piece because my kids always seem to pull the tops off when they are young!

I have mostly two-piece, one athletic style boyshort bikini, one normal bikini, and one boyshort tanktini, but this year I am on the lookout for a one-piece.

I run so cold, that I am usually only in the water for about 5 minutes until I am covered in goosebumps. When I worked on an archaeological project on a small island in Greece for three summers, we used to go down to the harbour after work was done for the day and swim around. It was a lot of fun, and as long as you swam fast or stayed to the top layers of water it was pretty warm.

It depends. I still love my two piece, but lately I've been drawn to some of the more vintage style one pieces.

I prefer either a two-piece for the convenience (nothing like stripping off a wet swimsuit to go to the washroom) but wear a tankini when my weight is a bit higher than I think works for one. I am fairly tall at 5'5" but my torso is short and I am short-waisted so finding a one piece that isn't too long is hard enough but finding one that has a bit of support for the girls that is in the right place on my frame is almost impossible. A friend of mine has a suit custom made in Mexico this year and it was quite nice so I might have one made next year.

which do you prefer, a one piece swimsuit or a bikini. I am a bit torn as I like the bikini for sunbathing and the swimsuit for swimming in as I like to swim fast and hard and not have to worry about losing it in the pool or it torturing me.

How about you, which do you prefer and wear?
