Yes, Suz, it was TTS. I am usually either a 4 or a 6 in a one-piece swimsuit, but sometimes a 4 is slightly short in the torso and sometimes a 6 is a tad long especially when wet. I went with the 6 and it feels really good on. It doesn't pucker at the butt so I think it is the right size for me. I hope it works for you! What color are you thinking?

Gorgeous suit, Vivian -- thank you! I might give it a go. Was it TTS?

viva - I see - and I can relate to the small chest area, and to the bit of tummy. I actually think one pieces often do look very attractive but I can't seem to get past the "hot belly" feeling of the material over that area. I wonder if the new more breathable fabrics will make that less of an issue. I also tend to be active (can't stand just 'laying out' in the sun or even reading in the sun). I tried a tankini once but it actually seemed to accentuate even a slight bit of tummy in my experience - so the one piece definitely makes sense over that to me.

Texstyle, I have a very small chest - 34A - so I'm not really worried about chest-area exposure. This one is quite open at the top, but that works for me.
I'm 51, and for the last few years I have looked for a one-piece at the beginning of the season, and have even purchased a few, but they never worked for me. One made me feel matronly, and one had the dreaded boyshort bottoms. I have had tankinis -- mostly when my girls were little, because they are so easy to play in. But for me, they're not right for the look and feel I want now. So I stuck with my bikinis.
I don't mind my bikinis and like them for sunning and vacationing, and I like my body, but you know, the midsection doesn't get better each year no matter how much I work on it ... and basically, I wanted a suit that had some sex appeal but would also let me stop thinking about how I look when I walk along the beach in my hometown. I'm not one of those people who lays down and reads on the beach (although I am a reader). I can read for a bit, but I'm a bit antsy at the beach -- I usually end up walking the full length several times, just to stay active and to not feel like I am roasting. I'm really looking forward to doing that and not worrying about my tummy.

WOW, that is beautiful. Have you considered 2 piece tankinis ? I LOVE them. I mix and match from Land's end.

It's GORGEOUS! I want one. Actually I was admiring a few of their swimsuits in the little June lookbook I received in the mail yesterday. I love charcoal - looks great with paler/less tanned skin too. And, I totally know what you mean about boy shorts and not hugging the bum properly. I just can't with them.

Really pretty suit but the top looks like it could feel uncomfortable - which leads me to ask (because I also love jcrew and have a two piece from last year), why did you decide to go with a one piece? Just curious because this one seems so exposed up top so I'm guessing that it's not because of modesty reasons.

I don't know that I am packing away the bikini, but I do know that I am ready to start wearing a one-piece. It was hard to find one that felt interesting, pretty, young-ish, classic but not boring. I liked Angie's but I can't do boyshorts -- I need the security of something actually grabbing hold of my butt at the bottom. (TMI, or do you know what I mean?)

Anyway, after several failed attempts I bought this suit in charcoal from JCrew. It fits beautifully, the detailing on the cups adds interest for the lesser-endowed, it has great butt-cheek coverage, and it's incredibly flattering. Comes in several lovely colors. Currently on sale.
