People really do give up some of their personal privacy to post photos here, so it makes them feel a little safer to know that those who look at the photos have signed up and have been posting to the forum first. The policy was actually what caused me to join the forum—I had been lurking for some months when the policy was implemented, and by then I was hooked and needed to see the photos! So I joined.
