Lately I've been both getting more adventurous and making fewer mistakes, so I've been feeling that reward a bit more often ;).</p> <p>Dianthus, I meant "on the nose" in the sense that both the boots and the dress have an old-fashioned aspect to them (the boots have sort of a 1930s heel and detailing). I put the boots on and thought, uh-oh, I can imagine my grandmother wearing both of these pieces when she was younger. On the nose = a little too expected. I got my inspiration for the pattern placement and skirt shape from the dresses I added up top (I own the B&amp;W ON version). I am really NOT an amazing seamstress, I just had an idea to make this design in the simplest way possible (because I wanted to wear it for dinner and decided to go for it.
