I ended up with these, which I wore with the leather shell and a flouncy grey skirt from my cocktail suit. I'm always in a ditch on that. Even ones I think I can manage sometimes turn out to be killers by the end of the evening.<br />I tend to look for what fits and is reasonably classic. I can't do a true&nbsp;thin high heel or&nbsp;even a kitten heel, so&nbsp;style compromise is always in the mix and I look for&nbsp;a&nbsp;refined shape (like almond toe) or something to&nbsp;offset a more chunky heel or&nbsp;wedge. That is&nbsp; about the best I could do. </p> <p>If the ones above are comfortable, I think they look great. If they fit really well, I would consider duplicate but only if the color is useful. Black and nude or pewter would be my choices for me. I don't get off the farm much these days. I read Angie's posts, but hardly feel like I have much to say since all I wear are camos, tees and hiking boots. The geese and goats don't care what I wear.</p> <p>But when I do have a reason to go somewhere, it always seems to call for more shoes.&nbsp;Every once in a while I need to go to DH's work events, sometimes even&nbsp;black-tie or "dressy cocktail" whatever that is.&nbsp;I have never tried nude shoes before, but I'm starting to see how practical they could be as a back-up shoe for just about any color dress or skirt that I might want to buy but don't want to invest in new shoes to match.</p> <p>I&nbsp;just ordered these pumps.&nbsp;I can't do heels. Please tell me if these would be acceptable, and more importantly, that they are so classic that I can wear them for 10 years, because I am sick and tired of buying shoes that I wear to just one event and then donate. If I wore them 10 times in 10 years, that would actually be a huge CPW improvement over my track record in event shoes.&nbsp;I look at what you all post, but I just don't "get" shoes, other than 90% of them&nbsp;hurt my feet.</p> <p>PS I just bought the mustard yellow&nbsp;golf shoes and I love them. I can even get my orthotic in them.&nbsp;Too bad I can't wear them with my grey cocktail suit!&nbsp;</p>
