I’ve seen it in our area too, and not just clothing boutiques — restaurants, furniture and home decor stores (oh, how I miss the fab non-chain furniture store where we got some great unique pieces — where on earth to find those now? Everything is so same-same!). </p> <p>I actually think a couple of boutiques here were helped by the closing of our closest Nordstrom and Lord &amp; Taylor. It’s very tough out there. It's just too terrible.&nbsp;</p> <p>You are right! If you love these stores - support them! I did just that at Pike Place market last week. Bought fun food at an incredible new store - (it has an interesting concept) - that is a year old, and HOPE it survives. They had a couple labels I’d noted for making attractive sustainable clothing. Two years ago I took a picture of the storefront, showing a rack of clothes and the address. Last year I actually set foot in the shop, had fun trying on clothes, and noted some new-to-me labels. </p> <p>Today is Sunday shopping day in Berlin. Stores aren’t usually open Sundays, but they are today. I’ve been thinking since at least last summer that I want a nice summer dress. I was all set to go to that store, but decided to double check if they were actually open today. The campaign failed the store closed, I’m unlikely to get a dress today (although your bet your boots I’m checking out the other boutique I like!). </p> <p>If you love someone, let them know.
