I will be reading this thread with interest, because I would love to find a perfect pair just like you've described for myself :)! The tricky part for me has been not too tight in the rear end, but yet with a slim-fitting (but not tight!) leg. Tricky business.

It is really tough work these days trying to find a nice, all-season wool suit in a modern cut. Have been liking Talbot's offerings online, though.

Is Land's End too conservative for you?

Was just reading the reviews on the Logan pant and one mentioned full lining.

Have you seen these?

http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....pid=762389

With a blazer:
http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....pid=762191

They are under $250, wool, dressy, straight leg, and work as suit pants with the above blazer. I don't know whether the pockets suit your needs or whether these specific pants are lined (their predecessor, the "Ryan", was lined and is hands down my favorite suit with the blazer linked above). The other big thing is that this cut, the Logan cut, is relatively slim through the hip and rear and relatively larger at the waist. The pants for curvier silhouettes are often not straight leg (e.g. http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....=767234002, or http://bananarepublic.gap.com/.....pid=770801), so not sure whether this cut would work for you.

Yes, I agree with Sona ! I also find the Ann Taylor and Loft usually have great basics for the working woman.

banana republic has some great dress black pants. I bought some recently on Angie's recommendation and they are fantastic. I'll try to find the exact style name for you.

I am on a serious search for the perfect pair of slim cut/ or straight -leg black pants to wear to work on a weekly basis. They need to be (1) made out of a season-less wool or wool blend (2) lined (3) I want to wear them with low-ish (under 3”)heels and flat (4) pockets . It would be a bonus if they had a matching blazer so I could wear the combo as a suit. I’m open to either mid rise or low rise. They need to cost under $250 which is more than I would pay for a single pair of pants, but I plan on wearing these things at least once a week.
I need a place to start looking since it seems that there are so many options out there and I’d like some suggestions. I pose this challenge to the YLF community …. Where should I start, does anyone have a great pair that they’d suggest ….
Thanks!!
