What grey at6 said. But the side zips could work great. I've used that approach before!

I love how the rich color of the boots echoes the burgundy of the tunic. I hope this combo ends up working for you.

That looks like a really nice tunic, Von. I am loving all things burgundy this year. I definitely wear similar looks to the office but mine is a pretty casual environment. (Yesterday I wore flared jeans with a nice top.)

Please let us know if it works for you!

Thanks everyone! I like the idea of trying a long necklace with it as well. Greycat, thanks for the WHBM link, I'm going to check that out also. The one saving grace on this tunic is the side zippers! I feel like if I do need a little more wiggle room (har har har), then I'd be able to unzip the sides just a little.

The last dress I tried like this was an epic failure, but it wasn't a knit...so we'll see!

I love the direction this is heading and I hope it works for you. A scarf or long pendant would be interesting finishing touches.

As a pear shape, sweater dress fit issues from the waist down are my nemesis. I I found this WHBM tunic and wanted to pass it on to you and those with similar issues. It is fitted in the shoulders and flows into an A-line shape from there, which is great for those of us who are hip/butt/thigh endowed. The wrap style works on my narrow shoulders and small bust. The knit has body and is substantial without adding bulk and skims over my bottom half. The picture doesn't do the color or fit justice. FYI, there is a 25% friends and family discount at WHBM through Sunday.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of this tunic on you. Good luck!

Seems like such a great outfit! I love that tunic and with the leggings or Ponte pants would work for smart casual at home or work! What a great price, also, on the tunic/dress!

I love that tunic (and the frye boots!) I would definitely classify it as smart casual. As FC said, it is almost dress length (depending on how tall you are). I vote give it a whirl.

That length of tunic is almost long enough to be a dress, so I think it does look nice with leggings and your boots as a smart casual option for the office. (Personally I feel the shorter top-like tunics look more casual and would stick to days off with those.) Since the shape looks fairly straight, I'm thinking it might be fairly body-con over the hips on a curvy shape, but I don't think that's a bad thing. You might want to try belting it, in that case, to draw it in a little bit at the waist--even if you wear a belt at the top of the hipbones rather than right at the waist. I can imagine this look working well for you, Von, and would say it's worth a try!

Hard to tell what it'll do to your butt without trying on Modal tends to add some nice drape so that's a plus but there's always a good chance of cling with those ribbed knits. As for wearing to work, I see this outfit as smart casual so if that's appropriate then sure. The heels and refined chunky shape on the booties helps dress it up, and of course you could also pop a jacket overtop if you wanted dressier.

I saw this sweater a few weeks ago on my great sweater search, and of course, in my head, things like this look better than they do when I go to execute the outfit. Sooooo, I wanted to see what others thought. Can this sweater/tunic make it's way into the work wardrobe without looking too casual? I've been working very hard to stop being so strictly business at work, since no one actually really said we HAD to be! Of course, I still don't wear jeans, but on most days I think I could get away with something like this.

I'm thinking black leggings and my brown Frye ankle boots...

Opinions needed! Yes - of course! or no - save yourself because that sweater is going to do terrible, horrible things as it drapes over your butt??
