(Personally I feel the shorter top-like tunics look more casual and would stick to days off with those.) Since the shape looks fairly straight, I'm thinking it might be fairly body-con over the hips on a curvy shape, but I don't think that's a bad thing. You might want to try belting it, in that case, to draw it in a little bit at the waist--even if you wear a belt at the top of the hipbones rather than right at the waist. As for wearing to work, I see this outfit as smart casual so if that's appropriate then sure.
