The boots are amazingly soft, and great for wearing with skirts, but I was afraid of tucking in jeans because the fit is very close to the calf and they might stretch. This is not a super-low rise, as far as I can tell, but it would be nice if it was higher. I do have a bit of a muffin top issue with pretty much any skinnies so I usually avoid wearing clingy knit tops, like thin t-shirts, over skinnies, and just wear woven tops. But with this color of jeans, I am having trouble finding woven layering tops in my wardrobe that would match.</p> <p>This is what I mean by muffin top. Then I did a forum search for styling colored denim and realized that I just reproduced Angie's bright jeans formula - grey on top to tone down the brightness. Then I followed Angie's other suggestion and put on grey boots instead of black - I think this works best. That is truly an ingenious formula!</p> <p>Jonesy, I agree - I need to switch to a tunic length black top, which I have. The other issue is that, like many skinnies, these create a major muffin top effect if I wear them with knit tops. I hope the scarf will cover this up. However, a couple of months ago DH pointed out to me a very stylish girl wearing cobalt bootcut jeans, brown leather jacket, and a bright red bag and asked what I thought of her outfit. I mentioned to him that cobalt jeans were quite fashionable, and that I really liked her style. Ever since then he has been pointing out to me cobalt jeans in various catalogs.</p> <p>Yesterday I stopped in Old Navy to take a look at their Rockstar Jeggings since they come in bright colors. There was only one pair in bright blue, more or less my size, for $12. I bought them to try on at home. What do you think?</p> <p>The cons are - bunching and wrinkling at the knees and back. I believe some other forum members had similar issues with these. The color is very bright (maybe brighter than I was looking for). The fit is pretty tight (but I think this is by design) - does this look decent or do I need even longer tops? The pros - color is OK for weekend wear. Thin fabric allows me to tuck these into grey boots without fear of stretching the boots. And a bonus - a new scarf that DH bought me as an early present seems to go well with the bright blue.</p> <p>I think the colors look true to life in the last photo - the first two are a bit washed out. </p>
