Well, the daily or almost daily photos really taught me more than I had expected. I learned about my real needs vs. my fantasy life -- and some of the lessons were unexpected.&nbsp;</p> <p>For instance, I thought that my main need was for super casual clothes for work at home, and always felt vaguely guilty about my smart casual or dressier purchases, thinking I wouldn't wear them. Instead, I learned that my need for both types of clothing is about equal. I'm so excited, I just high-fived myself! </p> <p>Thank you to everyone here for helping me along in my style journey, with special props to Angie, Greg and Inge for making this such a great place to hang out! I came here a year ago, a former fashion/style lover who had become disenchanted with fashion and style because nothing seemed to work anymore and the process of getting dressed in the morning was incredibly stressful. </p> <p>I estimated that, provided I took my style journey seriously, it would take me a year to get my wardrobe figured out. And I feel that, after almost a year of tracking my daily outfits in an Excel worksheet, a few WIWs (not as many as I would like) and numerous shopping trips, I am 100% more confident about my wardrobe and wardrobe choices. By 100%, I don't feel that I'm perfect and have it "all" figured out, I mean that I feel 100% better about myself. I still have a style journey but its become joyful, fun and creative, not critical, frustrating and stressful. </p> <p>I do still get frustrated about my clothing choices, but I can tell you that the stress of getting dressed in the morning is long-gone. The criticism I directed at my own body is mostly silenced because I have figured out numerous ways to dress it. I still want to lose weight but it's more about health than it is about appearance. I need more clothes than I ever thought I did but it still feels like a minimal wardrobe because its all getting worn - a lot. I went over budget and voluntarily gave my credit cards to my husband for a while but I accepted it as a part of "the year" I gave myself to figure it out. I still make purchasing mistakes but they are fewer and farther between and hey, isn't that part of the journey?</p> <p>Most importantly, I found a great community of people with whom I can have insightful, engaging and heartwarming discussions about clothes, life and all things in between.
