As we were poor, we only had money for our hamburgers, which we savoured nevertheless, eyes locked into one another... you have to picture this: he head shaved, long shabby tweed coat, doc martins, I in leather and&nbsp; lace,&nbsp;&nbsp;a copy of Cindy Lauper. Yes, it was the 80's. The waitress arrived all smiles, a bit shy, with a huge sunday. "For you". "Oh, thanks, but we can't afford it", we replied. But she said: "No, you don't understand, this one's on me! I just find you guys so adorable together. Enjoy!"<br />And so we did, giggling and happy.<br />We even reminisced about this event, which we had never forgotten,&nbsp;&nbsp;during the weekend. On Monday, just before taking my plane, we went for a burger (well, er- me a salad, lol) and the same thing happened! This time it was a male waiter who offered us chocolate cake!
