Something was different with the waist / shoulder measurements. The small fit me perfectly at the shoulder but was a bit snug at the waist. When I went up to a medium, then the entire shoulder and back was huge and there was not a big difference at the waist. I think this jacket would work better on someone with broader shoulders. I wanted to be able to close the jacket, that's why I left it behind.
