I tried on all the Old Navy jeans in the spring and I didn't like any of them too much, although I can't really remember why. I think I found they were too tight in the thighs but too big in the waist (common issue for me) and the rises seemed too low on all of them.

I have the white Sweethearts - bought them at the beginning of the season. I've never tried on the Goddess style so I wouldn't be able to compare them. The rise on the Sweethearts is a tad under 9". I've worn them quite often and I didn't feel like the grew at all - my only complaint is that the fabric seems kind of stiff.

I have a pair of Old Navy "Sweetheart" jeans and the rise in a size 2 is 9". They are skinnies not bootcuts but I would think the rise would be similar in all the "Sweetheart" styles. As to the size issue, I usually wear a 4, but at Old Navy and Gap I wear a 2.

You also might want to seek out the Levi's 512 style. These are bootcut with about a 10" rise in the size 4. They come in a variety of washes including a couple of dark ones with no wiskering. They also come in short and regular lengths. I really like the fit of these for a non-premium jean and they seem very durable, I've had a pair for about a year. Kohl's is a good place to try.

One thing a sales person at Old Navy told me- within a size, each jean (same jean, same wash) can be cut slightly differently. I took a stack of size 4's and found this to be true- and was amazed at how different the cuts could be. (this was five years ago- maybe it's more uniform now)

I still have the jeans I bought- a little too faded for anything but casual wear, but they do last. Wish they would come up with a non-whiskered version.

Maya, I have been wearing Diva jeans in light wash for over a year now and I am very happy with them. Mine didn't grow much and are still in good shape despite a whole winter of almost non-stop wear.
If if helps, I am a consistent size 4 at Zara and MNG, my express editor jeans are a size 0 and I am a solid size 2 in Old Navy bottoms.

They do grow a bit Maya. I'm not sure what the 1 is, unless the 0 is really a 00. The goddess style is a higher rise I believe. I don't think that any of the current styles there are a solid dark wash- they all have some type of fading/whiskering/something on them, so if you're not ok with that then don't even bother looking there.

I am in need of an emergency pair of dark wash bootcut jeans and Old Navy seemed like a good place to look to get the right rise, length, and price. Here are my ?'s:

• What's the difference between the Sweetheart and Goddess styles? One says "high rise" and one says "classic rise." Is one higher than the other? Is one more fitted? I'm confused...

• How do they wear? Do they grow?

• How do the sizes run? I only own some ON loungewear in an XS. I'm confused by the addition of a size 1, which appears to be the only odd numbered size. I can't decide whether I'm a 0, 1, 2, or 4. And if they grow, I may need to size down.
