I like everything, including the flared crops in #1. I remember your saying how you have always liked that cut/length and I am with you. I am happy these are back as I felt very nostalgic about this silhouette.

I have been thinking of flared crops, too. I think a tighter fit in the thigh to contrast with the flare and shorter length maybe with raw edge would be nice. I saw a pair like this last summer but didn't buy because I thought the trend would be over too fast. Guess not!

1st love the shirt -if you were wearing a long denim skirt and tights, i could totally get DD comment, but i trust that isn't in the cards.
ok on to the jeans, i like the cropped flares, but what do i know. i like the Uniqlo a lot, are they a good summer weight? and i agree with some of the others, maybe try a smaller cuff on the white.

I have those Uniqlo jeans - washed in cold and hung to dry, they don't shrink at all. They stretch a bit during wear - maybe half a size.

I'm also not a big fan of the cropped flares but they don't look bad on you - just a little "trendy" I guess. I really like your other purchases - great blouse and the white jeans are really nice! (I don't mind the giant roll - even though I know it's trendy too).

Hey! Another lover of all things J.Crew here, and we are very cutting edge, stylish people! :)

OK, well I guess I'm not THAT cutting edge because I like your longer flared crops better than the shorter flared crops. But then I confess to not being on the flared crop bandwagon yet anyway. Brings back too many bad memories of being the tallest girl in the class and having to wear pants that were too short.

I like the shirt, no other-universe refugee sightings here. And I LOVE those J.Crew white jeans! Those are fantastic.

Thanks Angie! My feelings ....
1. Ugh. I really hate how short those flares are. If they have to be that short, I may just have to bow out. That's too much trend for me.
2. I knew you'd like the Uniqlos cuffed. I did that for you. I like that too.
3. I hope silver ankle straps will suffice for white.

(I can't help myself - I HAVE to chime in about pant lengths).

Viv, I find the flared crops just a little too long - not sufficiently intentional. I'd take a pair of scissors and chop off three or four inches and wear them myself. See pics below.

I like #4.

I think #5 needs white ankle strap heels.

Okay. That's it. No more forum for me for a while.

I love the flared crops, Viva! I might like them even more if they were just a bit shorter, but then you'd lose some of the flare by hemming. I think they're definitely casual glamour paired with that shirt. I'm a huge Uniqlo fan and haven't noticed any stretching or shrinking in my pants from there, but mine are a couple of years old. And I reslly, really like that shirt. Agree with Trekkiegirl on the turnup on the white J Crew pants. Otherwise all these items are big wins to me!

You do not look like a refugee from a home spun faction of anything . Tell DD she's been reading too many YA novels. I love all three pair of jeans - especial the flared crops. I am determined to rock this look myself . I have to say thought that I agree with ms trekkie above in not being a huge fan of the depth of the cuff on the white jeans. Is it adjustable? I'd take it down by half. I know it's part of the look, but it's a tad overwhelming on your petiteness

Not really a fan of the flared crops, but they work for you. Really like those ankle pants!! Not sure how I feel about the big cuff on the white jeans, it almost looks like they were too long and you just folded them up. The fit is perfect though

Some of you have asked about my flared crops, so here they are (pics 1-2). I bought them a year ago from Anthro; they are Pilcro with raw hems. Please note - ahem - how ahead of the curve I was. That never happens. I mean, come on; I am a JCrew girl! Not exactly cutting edge!!! I'm laughing so hard that flared crops are now a thing. I have been wearing them for a year, causing strange looks all over Portsmouth NH. But I never got the whole culottes thing, so there you go. My cool-ness is so limited.

I am on the fence about their fit. They tend to bag out over the course of a day and I really wish I had bought a size down, but they are wonderfully worn in and are good with a belt, so I will keep them for now. But I am also thinking that maybe I am over this look, and they don't fit with the "casual glamour" (thanks, E!) that I am cultivating for spring.

Also, note the banded collar Uniqlo shirt from the Ines collection. DD thinks I look like a refugee from the homespun faction of a dystopian universe, but I really love this shirt. The fit is great and the material is a lovely oxford, and it was $19. Tags are off and I am wearing this today.

Next up: Uniqlo slim fit ankle jeans (pics 3-4). I am waiting to hear back from karymk about shrinking and stretching, but I think these are a keeper. Not binding in any way, fabulous handfeel -- soft Japanese denim, super dark, very slight almost undetectable stretch. These were $39. I sized down one size - they are particularly roomy in the waist, but then again so am I. (Kary sized down 2, I think.)

Finally: Point Sur slim stacker selvedge white jeans from JCrew (pic 5). Bought on deep clearance (they are still on sale). These replaced both of my other white jeans. I love the fit on these. I had to size down (one size), and they are an easy straight fit. I love the big cuffs with the red stitching on the inside seams.

Fire away! I'm interested in any and all feedback!
