I can't see these working in winter unless you left them at work and changed daily.

Elizabeth, I don't think it's a question of style. It's a question of warmth. I would freeze in them in winter. And like Angie, I don't much care for hose with shoes that have no heels.

Glory, when oh when is that Nordie's opening up your way?????

Well, I guess I'm out of style... I wear mine in the winter :). Moreso in the spring and fall. Mine are the black suede, and to me suede is a winter material. I don't care for mine so much in summer, and kind of wish I'd got plain leather for that reason. Now that being said... I don't wear them much in the winter, as I do think pumps are better. But I wore them with pants a few times.

I've seen several pairs of pumps recently with the ankle strap detail but with a closed back. Might be a good combo of trendy and classic. If I find a link to one online I'll post it.

Let the hunt begin! I just can't be stuck like I was last night again. Don't you wish there was a Nordie here Suz?

I feel as Angie does, and it's enough to make me weep -- because I have such trouble with pumps, while the Okala stays on my foot (an excellent quality in a shoe, don't you agree?) and I would so dearly love a winter dress shoe that did the same!!

Thanks Sara and Angie. Angie thanks for chiming in on the seasonal questions. So happy you did - I will now have to look for something else for the fall and winter.

Definitely on trend for a while, but so not a season-less shoe. This is a Summer shoe. Spring and Fall only if the weather is warm. Personally, I do not like hose with an open back shoe. If the back was closed, hose would be fine.

I love the look of the Okalas although I don't own a pair myself. I see them still being on trend next year. I think they could work for winter with tights or hose.

Ladies, last night it became pretty clear to me that I need a new pair of shoes for going out to dinner, weddings, events etc. I don't have a huge requirement - maybe 6 events per year. This summer I wore sandals and I wore the sandals to an event last night - but it was pushing it weather wise. I do have round toe black pumps but they are super uncomfortable.

I am thinking of buying the black Okala's tomorrow so that I have something I can pull out at a moments notice.
My questions:

will they work and be on trend for at least one year more?

will they work for all seasons including winter (I would need to carry them with and change with the snow boots)?

are they true to size?

Here is a photo of the ones I am considering. All advice is most welcome.
