I like this. I think the pants work fine. Great colour and a gentle drape:) And you can't go wrong with stripes. Tres chic.

I love stripes so this outfit looks great to my eye. I also used red jeans this weekend for a nod to the season. I wore mine with a grey cable knit turtleneck and blue short trench but will steal your idea of a striped top next time.

As some other prepare-ahead types had commented, this was really hard to do! I had to stop myself from running through the possibilities in my mind as I was getting ready for bed the night before.

This is what I wore for a Saturday of errands including getting a Christmas tree. How did I do?

I wanted a bit of festivity, so l grabbed the red pants. (The colour is in -I think still? - but the style is not, however I tried to give them a bit of slouch, see pic #3) The striped top is a nod to our nautical-theme house by the seashore, which I was decorating! I grabbed a scarf with red and blue (my silk squares don't get much love lately) because I feel bare without a 3rd piece. For the errands I added black booties, a grey pea coat and more stripes in the wool scarf.

It worked because it was basically an at- home day and, I admit, I have a very limited colour palette. But it wouldn't be easy to repeat. Now I'm back to laying out my clothes the night before, right down to the underthings!
